雨にもまけず

詩や小説、本は昔から大好き。中でも宮沢賢治の「雨にも負けず」は読むそのときそのときの状況によって印象の違うすばらしい(散文）詩。
日本の典型的な価値観、清貧をよく描いていると思うのだけれど、その清貧に対する思いは別として、この「雨にも負けず」は日々につらさを感じてるときには慰みになるし、日々に満足を感じてるときには幸せの源というものを垣間見てしまう。
ほかの人はどうなのだろう

雨にも負けず
風にも負けず
雪にも夏の暑さにも負けぬ
丈夫なからだをもち
慾はなく
決して怒らず
いつも静かに笑っている
一日に玄米四合と
味噌と少しの野菜を食べ
あらゆることを
自分を勘定に入れずに
よく見聞きし分かり
そして忘れず
野原の松の林の陰の
小さな萱ぶきの小屋にいて
東に病気の子供あれば
行って看病してやり
西に疲れた母あれば
行ってその稲の束を負い
南に死にそうな人あれば
行ってこわがらなくてもいいといい
北に喧嘩や訴訟があれば
つまらないからやめろといい
日照りの時は涙を流し
寒さの夏はおろおろ歩き
みんなにでくのぼーと呼ばれ
褒められもせず
苦にもされず
そういうものに
わたしはなりたい

Despite(without defeated by)  rain
Despite(without defeated by)  wind
Despite(without defeated by)  snow, Despite  cold air of the summer
Having healthy body
Having no greed
Never get offended
Always smile quietly
Four cups of brown rice a day
Some miso and some vegetable
For everything
Without counting own benefit
Listen well, understand well

And never to forget things
Being, in the pine tree field, in the shade,
Living in the small straw covered house
If there is sick child in the East,
would be there to take care of the child
If there is tired mother in the West,

Would be there and help shouldering the weight of  straws
If there is a dying man in the South,

Would be there to tell there is nothing to be scared
If there is a quarrel or lawsuit in the North,

Telling them to stop such trivial thing
having tears during drought
walking around uneasy during cold summer

Being considered useless
Never be praised
Never be considered trouble
